State/council housing

In some countries the government provides state or council housing

This helps people who cannot afford to buy their own house

It can be argued that state housing creates dependence on the government

People should be rely on the government to look after them

People have no incentive to earn money and buy their own home Council properties are often made with cheap, poor-quality materials.

在日常英語中,人們有時借用這個成語表示着迷、癡心妄想或稀奇古怪的思維方式,如have a bee in one's bonnet(蜜蜂藏在帽子裏), get a bee in one's head(腦袋裏鑽進了蜜蜂)或have one's head full of bees(腦袋裏全是蜜蜂),均可比喻滿腦子的古怪主意、荒誕念頭或奇思妙想。

I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beat the air.

英語中使用bean的成語很多,如old bean(老朋友),every bean has its black(每粒豆子都有?黑店),以及he knows how many beans make five(他不是傻子)。 因此,not worth a bean就是一文不值,而without a bean是幾乎就要破產了。
