Sahara desert witnessed its first snow fall in nearly 40 years last week, and amateur photographer Karim Bouchetata has captured rare and stunning images of the snowfall.

In his images, a thin layer of snow rests on deep orange dunes and forms whirling patterns where the slopes are too steep for it to settle.
