考生應能掌握5500左右的詞彙以及相關詞組。除掌握詞彙的基本含義外，考生還應掌握詞彙之間的詞義關係，掌握詞彙之間的搭配關係，掌握詞彙生成的基本知識。

1. recruit

n.      新兵；（機構中的）新成員；新學生；

vt.     招聘，徵募；吸收某人爲新成員；動員…（提供幫助）；僱用；

vi.     徵募新兵；得到補充，得到補償；恢復健康；

[例句]The police are trying to recruit more black and Asian officers.

警方正在試圖招募更多黑人和亞裔警官。

2. rectify

vt.    改正，校正；[化]精餾；[電]整流；

[例句]Only an act of Congress could rectify the situation.

只有國會法案才能矯正這種形勢。

3. refer

vi.    提到；針對；關係到；請教；

vt.    歸因於…；使求助於；送交；認爲…起源於；參考，查閱；

[例句]In his speech, he referred to a recent trip to Canada.

他在講演中提到了前不久的加拿大之行。

4. refine

vt.    提煉；改善；使高雅；

[例句]Oil is refined to remove naturally occurring impurities.

油經過提煉去除天然存在的雜質。

5. reform

[例句]The party embarked on a programme of economic reform.

6. refresh

vt.    使恢復，使振作；使煥然一新，翻新；給（電池）充電；

[例句]The lotion cools and refreshes the skin.

7. refute

vt.    駁斥，駁倒；否認真實性；

[例句]It was the kind of rumour that it is impossible to refute.

這是那種讓人根本沒法批駁的謠言。

8. regard

vi.     凝視；留意；

n.      凝視；留意；尊敬；問候；

[例句]He was regarded as the most successful Chancellor of modern times.

9. regenerate

vt.    回收（廢熱，廢料等）；使再生；革新；使悔悟；

adj.  再生的；革新的；改過自新的；

[例句]The government will continue to try to regenerate inner city areas.

10. regulate

vt.    調節，調整；校準；控制，管理；

[例句]The powers of the European Commission to regulate competition are increasing.

歐盟委員會對競爭的監管權越來越大。

11. reign

vi.    當政，統治；占主導地位；

vt.    想法、情感或氛圍盛行，成爲最顯著的；

n.     君主的統治；君主統治時期；任期；當政期；

在這一爭論如何結束的問題上人們陷入了混亂。

12. rejoice

vi.    高興；歡慶；

vt.    使高興；使歡喜；

[例句]Garbo plays the Queen, rejoicing in the love she has found with Antonio.

嘉寶飾演王后，陶醉於和安東尼奧的熱戀中。

13. relate

vt.    （把…）聯繫起來；講，敘述（故事等）；講述，敘述；使…有聯繫；建立或展示聯繫；

vi.     涉及；有聯繫；符合；發生共鳴；

[例句]Other recommendations relate to the details of how such data is stored.

其他建議涉及此類信息儲存方面的一些細節。

14. relay

n.     繼電器；傳遞；接替人員，替班；接力賽；

vt.    轉播，傳達；用驛馬遞送，使接替；分程傳遞；

[例句]Britain's prospects of beating the United States in the relay looked poor.

英國要在接力賽中戰勝美國，前景看上去並不那麼樂觀。

15. release

vt.     釋放；發佈；發行；放開；

n.      釋放，排放，解除；釋放令；公映的新影片，發佈的新聞[消息]；

[例句]He was released from custody the next day.

第二天他被從拘留所裏放了出來。
