考生應能掌握5500左右的詞彙以及相關詞組。除掌握詞彙的基本含義外，考生還應掌握詞彙之間的詞義關係，掌握詞彙之間的搭配關係，掌握詞彙生成的基本知識。
1. relevant
adj. 有關的，中肯的；相關聯的；確切的；有重大意義[作用]的，實質性的；
[例句]We are trying to make politics more relevant to younger people.
我們試圖使政治活動更加貼近年輕人。
2. relieve
vt. 緩解；解除；換班；（去廁所的一種委婉說法）方便；
[例句]Drugs can relieve much of the pain.
藥物能夠大大地緩解病痛。
3. remark
n. 話語；注意，觀察；評論，談論，；
vt. 評論；覺察；
[例句]I remarked that I would go shopping that afternoon.
我說過我那天下午要去購物。
4. remedy
n. 補救辦法；治療法；糾正辦法；（硬幣的）公差；
vt. 補救；治療；改正，糾正，改進；
[例句]The remedy lies in the hands of the government.
解決良策掌握在政府手中。
5. remember
vt. 記得；牢記；記着；紀念；回想起；送錢[禮物]給…；
[例句]You wouldn't remember me. I was in another group.
你不會記得我。我那時在另外一組。
6. remind
vt. 提醒；使想起，使記起；
[例句]So she simply welcomed him and reminded him of the last time they had met.
於是她只是對他表示歡迎，並且提醒說他們上次見過面。
7. remove
vt. 去除；開除；脫掉，拿下；遷移；
vi. 遷移，移居；離開；
n. 距離，差距；移動；
[例句]He removed his jacket.
他脫下了夾克。
8. render
v. 給予；使成爲；遞交；表達；
[例句]It contained so many errors as to render it worthless.
它錯誤太多，所以毫無用處。
9. renew
vt. 補充；重新開始；使更新；使恢復；
vi. 重申，重複強調；重新開始；
[例句]He renewed his attack on government policy towards Europe.
他重新開始對政府的歐洲政策進行抨擊。
10. renovate
vt. 翻新，修復，整修；革新，更新；恢復（精神）；
adj. 恢復的，革新的，翻新的；
[例句]The couple spent thousands renovating the house.
這對夫婦花了幾千元來翻新房子。
11. repel
vt. 擊退；抵制；使厭惡；使不愉快；
[例句]Like poles repel, unlike poles attract.
同極相斥，異極相吸。
12. repent
vt. 對（自己的所爲）感到懊悔或懺悔；
adj. [植]匍匐生根的；[動]爬行的；
[例句]Those who refuse to repent, he said, will be punished.
那些拒不悔改的人，他說，將會受到懲罰。
13. replace
vt. 代替；替換；把…放回原位；（用…）替換；
[例句]The council tax replaces the poll tax next April.
市政稅在明年4月將取代人頭稅。
14. represent
vt. 表現，象徵；代表，代理；扮演；作爲示範；
vi. 代表；提出異議；
[例句]The offer has yet to be accepted by the lawyers representing the victims.
受害者的代理律師還沒有接受這個提議。
15. reproach
vt. 責備，責罵；使丟臉；申斥；損傷…的體面；
n. 譴責；責備，責罵；恥辱，污辱；[宗]應答聖歌；
[例句]She is quick to reproach anyone who doesn't live up to her own high standards.
只要有人不符合她自己的高標準，她馬上就會加以指責。
