But three years later, an Iraqi grandfather has finally been given the chance to reunite with his son and granddaughter at a refugee camp outside the city.

And there, Nadir Ali could finally reunite with his father in an emotional scene, which saw him drop to his knees. He also tearfully hugged his mother, while his young daughter was picked up and held close by her grandfather.

Under ISIS, many civilians found it difficult to travel to different villages to visit their relatives. So on making it to the Hazir camp, many people are being reunited with family members they haven’t been able to see for months or years.
