國外一車模因來例假而被現代汽車解僱

A model is taking legal action against Hyundai, claiming she was fired by the car giant for having a period at work.

日前，一名模特將現代公司告上了法庭，她聲稱自己因在工作時來例假而被該汽車巨頭開除了。

Rachel Rickert, 27, claims she was representing the company at the New York International Auto Show when she had to rush to the bathroom to change her tampon.

27歲的瑞秋·里克特表示，事情發生時自己正在紐約國際車展上代表現代公司進行展出，期間突然需要去洗手間換衛生巾。

She did not make it on time, and said she needed a new uniform as a result.

由於沒能及時更換衛生巾，她最後只能要求公司提供一套新制服。

Instead, her complaint claims, she was told to go home because of her 'period situation'.

里克特抱怨稱，公司當時非但沒有這麼做，反而告訴她，因爲“例假情況”，她可以回家去了。

Documents filed with the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission claim she had been at work for three hours when she was allowed a bathroom break.

里克特隨後向美國公平就業機會委員會提交了一份文件，表明自己在被批准去洗手間之前已經工作了三個小時。

After she was sent home, Rickert says, she received a call saying she was being let go because Hyundai had learned of her 'period situation'.

里克特表示，自己回家之後接到了一通電話，大致內容就是說她之所以被辭退，是因爲現代公司已經聽說了她正在來例假。

She told the New York Post: 'It's unacceptable. You're not a robot. You have to use the bathroom especially when you're on your period.'

她在接受《紐約郵報》採訪時表示：“這是無法接受的。我們都不是機器人，因此都有去洗手間的需要，尤其是來例假的時候。”

'They just act like we're not human. I'm not going to be ashamed or shamed of having my period.'

“他們完全不把我們當人看，我不會因爲我的生理期而感到羞愧。”

The lawsuit targets Hyundai and Experiential Talent, which had hired Rickert.

據悉，里克特起訴的對象是僱用自己的現代公司和Experiential Talent中介公司。

Experiential Talent declined to comment, and a Hyundai spokesman said: 'We take any complaint like this seriously and will respond appropriately once we have a chance to investigate the merits of the claim.'

Experiential Talent方面拒絕對此發表評論，而現代公司的一位發言人則表示：“對於這樣的投訴，我們每一次都高度重視，一旦有機會調查到本次事件中究竟孰是孰非，我們一定會給出一個恰當的迴應。”
