英特爾入股紫光進軍手機晶片領域

ntel wants a bigger bite of China's smartphone market.

美國晶片製造商英特爾(Intel)希望奪取中國智慧手機市場的更大份額。

The US chipmaker has announced plans to invest up to Rmb9bn (about $1.5bn) for a minority stake in Tsinghua Unigroup, a government-affiliated private equity fund that controls Chinese chip designers Spreadtrum Communications and RDA Microelectronics.

英特爾已宣佈，將投資90億元人民幣 (約合15億美元)，購入擁有政府背景的紫光集團(Tsinghua Unigroup)少數股權，紫光集團是中國晶片製造商展訊通訊(Spreadtrum Communications)和銳迪科微電子(RDA Microelectronics)的控股公司。

The US company plans to work with RDA and Spreadtrum to increase the use of its products inside made-in-China mobiles and tablets.

英特爾計劃與展訊通訊和銳迪科微電子合作，擴大內置於中國國產手機和平板電腦的英特爾產品的使用量。

This is the latest by Intel chief executive Brian Krzanich to get Intel chips into phones.

此際，英特爾CEO布萊恩•克蘭尼克(Brian Krzanich)正在努力讓英特爾晶片進入手機領域。

Mr Krzanich said in a statement:China is now the largest consumption market for smartphones and has the largest number of Internet users in the world.

克蘭尼克在一份宣告中稱：“中國現在是最大的智慧手機消費市場，網際網路使用者數為全球最高。英特爾在中國有29年的投資和經營歷史，英特爾與紫光集團的合作還將增強我們為中國及全球其他地區更多的移動客戶提供支援的能力。”
