環保英語演講稿1

Presently, a new lifestyle called low carbon life is spreading every cornerof our country。 The concepts of low carbon are low energy and no waste。 It issuch a significant project that I can’t wait to present my ideas on how topromote it。

On the first place, a no-car day is supposed to set up every week in ourschool。 Because cars not only cause serious air pollution but also waste energy。On no-car day, neither students nor teachers are allowed to drive to school。Meanwhile, just walk, jump, cycle or run。 Use our legs and enjoy the fun。

On the second place, we had best not use plastic bags any more。 No one canstand the “white pollution”。 So, it is wise to use bags which can be reusedagain and again。

Finally, one thing that we should keep in mind: every big thing es from thesubtle。 Therefore, as students, we ought to turn out the lights the moment weleave, turn off the tap in time, and reuse our textbook and so on。

All in all, it weighs greatly for all of us to put the low carbon lifestyleinto practice。 Just set our mind to these: no-car day, no plastic bags, and nowaste。 Let’s do it now。

Now the earth is in bad condition。 For example, in some places, the air andwater pollution is so serious that it causes many deaths。 At the same time, manyanimals and plants are in danger because of the destruction of theirhabitats。

Luckily, we human beings have realized the problem。 On April 22nd, millionsof people across the world do something good for the earth。 Some clean upbeaches and water, some pick up rubbish, others give speeches to call on morepeople to take action。 But can we save the earth only by one day’s work? Thefuture of our planet depends on our efforts。 What we should do is to make everyday Earth Day。 Only by taking good care of it every day can we hope to live inharmony with nature。

Many people are active in fighting against unfair treatment to coloredpeople, women , animals and so on。 Right now I am talking about fighting forrespect to our environment。 Though the environment doesn’t have a mouth todeprecate what humans have done to her, she retaliates through action。 In theearly years the Chinese cut down large quantities of trees, at the source of theyellow river, which led to the disappearance of big forests and terriblefloods。

As a result, the Huangtu plateau which was once covered with grass andforests was turned into barrens that supported fewer plants。 Another example wasin several developed countries。 Because many chemical factories dischargedpoisonous gas without filtering it, cities were covered with so much poisonousgas that people were killed by the air they breathed in。 What horrible scene! What we are suffering is only a small part of what the nature once suffered。 Ifwe don’t take action to show respect to the environment, we will have to face anincreasingly awful situation。 Measures should be taken to protect theenvironment on which we are relying。

First governments should forbid destroying vegetation, rivers and lakes, oceans, as and the atmosphere as well。 Second voices should be made to announcethe public of the importance of protecting the environment。 Third enterprisesshould pay special attention to the effect they have on the environment and workout solutions for the problems。 Only by changing the way we treat theenvironment can we get along well with it。 Only by saving the environment can wesave ourselves。

We live in the world every day. We eat food, drink water, wear clothes, watch TV, use computers and so on. We are producing waste every moment.

Generally speaking, there are four sorts of waste. They are material waste, organic waste, inorganic waste and poisonous & harmful waste. Now, we aregoing to talk about each sort of waste one by one.

Material waste: it means the waste of substance or things from whichsomething else can be made. For example, people throw away the used metalproducts and buy a new one, so the old metal waste accumulates. At last, theybecome waste. For example, when people finish reading newspaper, the paper willbecome waste. When the glass is broken, it also becomes waste. Nobody wants touse a broken window or drink with a broken glass or wear a pair of brokenglasses. Once it is broken, it becomes waste. The rate of using plastics isincreasing day by day. People use plastic bags because they are convenient. Whenthey get home, they throw the plastics way, paying no attention to theenvironment. The more convenience plastics brings to us, the more plastic wasteis produced. This is called “white pollution” as most plastics are white. Someof our products we use every day are made of rubber, just like the tyres and thebottom part of our shoes. It’s true that rubber plays an important role in ourlife. However, it also brings us some trouble when it has been used for a longtime and becomes old. The old tyres become waste because it can’t break down bynature. This is really a big problem.
