一、概述

英語句子的基本結構是:主語+動詞+賓語(Subject- Verb十Object)，由此衍生出多種句型。但基本句型仍然爲:

簡單句(Simple)，如:Steve's promotion appeared in the WallStreet Journal.

並列句(Compound)，如:Steve's promotion appeared in theWall Street Journal, but the writer omit-ted a key point.

複合句(Complex)，如:Steve's promotion appeared in the WallStreet Journal, though the writer omit-ted a key point.

並列複合句(Compound-Complex)，如:Steve's promotion ap-peared in' the環勺It Street Journal,though the writer omitted a key point，and his company's stock rose the sameday,surprising the analysts.

主語+動詞+賓語(S十V + O)結構仍然是商務英語基本的句子結構。但商務英語寫作中應合理應用句子的多種結構(變化 詞序、句子長度、句型;關鍵詞、詞組或放在句首，或放在句尾;等)，以保持讀者的興趣，清晰有效地傳遞信息，增強寫作的 美感。

二、句型多樣化

儘管多數作者和讀者贊同商務寫作中多采用簡單句型，但句型的多樣化(variety)可以避免寫作單調乏味，增強寫作的流 暢性。下例基本上全由簡單句組成，閱讀起來枯燥無趣，缺乏吸引力。

We need to evaluate our competitive position. We need toknow what effect the marketing of import beers has on theBest Brands market. Import beers have been increasing insales for years. This has happened as the number of ethnicrestaurants has increased. There has recently been an in-crease of these beers elsewhere. Mexican, Canadian, and Ger-man beers are available in supermarkets. They are availablethrough other nonethnic distribution channels. Strategiesmust be developed. They must be developed to maintain BestBrands' share in the distribution network. They must be de-veloped to increase market share. We need to respond to thechange in the composition of the beer market.
