如果天氣很熱的話，講幾個和冷的東西有關的俗語也許會讓人感到舒服一些。好吧，下面我們就來講由“雪”這個詞組成的常用語，比如snowball。
聽到snowball這個詞，我們腦子裏就會出現孩子們冬天在雪地裏扔雪球玩的形象。這當然是snowball的本來意思。可是，snowball也可以當動詞用、來形容某一樣東西很快就變得越來越大，就像滾雪球那樣。下面的這個例子就是用snowball來形容一家餐館的生意在最近幾個月變得越來越好：
