Favorite room in the house

You should say:

Which is your favorite room in the house?

Why do you regard it as the favorite?

What changes do you want to make in it?

Everyone in this world has a favorite place. Some people tend to stay at their workplaces and some people like to spend time at restaurants, but I an introvert and I mostly like to spend time at my home. I love my house and my favorite room in my house is my bedroom. My bedroom is on the first floor of my house and it is a very beautiful room.

這個世界上的每個人都有一個最喜歡的地方。有些人喜歡呆在工作場所，有些人喜歡呆在餐館，但我是個內向的人，我最喜歡呆在家裏。我愛我的房子，我最喜歡的房間是我的臥室。我的臥室在我的房子的第一層，它是一個非常漂亮的房間。

I spend most of time in my bedroom. The first thing is that I sleep in my bedroom, so it is the place which gives me the ultimate relaxation. I also like to watch movies in my room. Some people like to watch movies in their living room but I think otherwise. I want privacy and my bedroom is the only place where I can get it. There is no noise, no disturbance. My friends also like my room and whenever they come to my house they prefer to sit in my room.

Well if you want me talk about the room; I would say that my room has all the things which a person can dream of. It has a TV, air-conditioner, bed and sofa. The interior of the room was done by my sister and she spent a lot of time decorating it in a very unique way. She is really inspired by the Mughal style so gave that kind of touch in my room which makes it quite exquisite.

I like my room but there are certain changes I would like to make in it. Firstly I am not satisfied with the size of the room. I want my room to be bigger because I would like to put more stuff in it. The other change I would I like to make in my room is that I would like to put some paintings in the room. The wall looks empty and sad without paintings. I went to an exhibition recently and I was really impressed by the art collections and I am thinking about buying some stuff for my room.

這道題呢其實也屬於老生常談了。爲什麼這麼說，favourite room in your house，換言之就是your favourite room或者是 a room once you live in或者是a hotel room，準備的方式和方法都是一模一樣的。

例文：

Well， speaking of my favorite room then I will have to talk about my house first. It is a beautiful top roof duplex apartment located next to the biggest artificial river in Beijing which is just 500 meters away from the 3rd ring road. It is a beautifully decorated 6 storey building with a quiet neighborhood. I've known that for a long time as I have live there since I was born.

My favorite room of the apartment is my bedroom. It is located upstairs of the duplex which gives me as much space as I need. In my room I've got 2 bedside tables， a flat screen right against the wall， a huge wardrobe on the left corner and of course， my so be loved comfortable king size bed which located right in the centre of the room. I also would like to introduce the stereo next to my TV I bought last month which just bring my decorations to perfection. You will love the room if you get a chance to see it yourself as it's a place that you can totally relax yourself.

Oh， did I forget to mention that my room is also well maintained as well? I like my own space to be neat and tidy at all time.

In spit of all of the above， there is another reason why I love the room so much. As I've mentioned before， I start to live in there right after I was born， there are just so many memories. No matter happy or sad but they all happened right in that place. Everytime I look into my room it reminds me of my past and all of my happiness and tears. Guess memories are really important to me.

這篇範文是一個6-6.5分的範文。總體來看，沒有什麼難詞以及高難語法。但是邏輯連貫等還不錯，由於考生的語音這一塊無法在文字中評價，所以具體是6分還是6.5就要看考生自己了。

第一段簡單的介紹我房子的地理位置，出現靚詞：duplex，artificial，decorate等詞。語法無錯誤，詞彙得分可以達到6.5分，語法方面6.5，邏輯連貫性7.

第二段介紹具體的房間，房間在房子裏的位置，所有傢俱的擺設。在這裏涉及到了很多方向副詞。範文中出現的問題是，一開始介紹傢俱缺乏參照物。不能給考官非常具體的方位感。如果改進的話建議先介紹中間的大牀。然後其他的傢俱圍繞牀的方位來介紹。這樣在連貫性上會有加分。這一段中，詞彙：6，語法：6，邏輯連貫性6

這一段是銜接上一段的。嚴格意義上來說不算單獨的一條。但是卻很好的起到了承上啓下的作用，並且語氣等非常的口語化。

最後一段也是重中之重。要解釋清楚爲什麼這是你最喜歡的房間。例文在這方面的描寫比較少，而在房間陳設使用了大幅篇幅。如果這篇例文想得到7分以上，需要再最後這一點多下功夫。例如，例文中只是說這個房間承載了我得很多記憶，不管是開心的還是不開心的。那麼在描寫到這裏的時候，可以深入一下，比如加入意見開心的事情，這件事就發生在這個房間裏。比如小的時候每天晚上媽媽都會進來吻我一下說晚安之類的例子。這樣會更有感情色彩並且也可以豐富行文的語言。同時，也完美的回答了問題。

雅思口語Part2答案：喜歡的房子

I went to visit Ireland (…or say a different country/ city name…) after the completion of my first semester. This would probably be the May, 2012 and as I recall it was around 2 weeks’ visit. I went to visit (…say a village or urban area name…), a friend’s house and in this area there was a gigantic house (more specifically a castle) that caught my eyes.

I heard that my friend’s father had a good connection that would allow us to visit this castle. I went inside the house and walked from floor to floor and it took me more than 4 hours.

This was a 200 years’ old castle and I saw a real castle for the first time in my life during this visit. This was a great and different experience. I have read about these castles and even saw them in the movies; but witnessing the castle was something totally different. The castle was built with stones and the area was more than 2 acres. The castle was surrounded by thin lakes and it had well defense systems. Though there was no soldier or guard for war or defense, yet it took me to the feudal age and the history revealed itself in front of me.

The impression of this castle in me will last for a long time. The height of the castle, the shiny stones, stairs, cryptic rooms, large gates gave a total strange and different view than any other modern buildings I have seen. As this was my first visit to any real castle, I was mesmerized. I have never witnessed anything like this before. I liked the architectural design, height, history related to this, gigantic buildings, defense system, open area, thin lake, the cryptic rooms and war equipments of this castle.
