Reasons for people migrating from one country to another are manifold and range from personal interests, such as fulfilling ones childhood dream to business related issues such as work relocation.

It is undeniable that new immigrants have the privilege to try a new and different lifestyle that has the potential to deviate remarkably from their origin, and this unique experience has attracted a great number of participants.

Apart from this, all immigrants have also brought their individual culture to the new land, which enhances the cultural diversity of the nation. Furthermore, all migrants not only take their skills, but also their fortune with them and as a result, a large amount of money has been invested into the destination country. For example, a large portion of infrastructure funding in Japan is from their migrants investment.

However, for individuals,adapting to a new community that maybe has conflicting customs, is a challenging task.

Some new immigrants may feel depressed, especially during the initial years. Meanwhile, in terms of the society as a whole, new arrivals from outside of the country will increase the severity of employment competition, as the number of job seekers rises significantly, while job opportunities remain the same.

In conclusion, migrating to another new country is an important decision and one is required to consider all of the pros and cons into consideration before making such a decision.

In my view, the main reason of immigration is a strong desire of better life quality and safe future. A lot of people from so-called Third World move to developed countries in search of better employment opportunities, and therefore, higher incomes. Moreover, living in a wealthy country implies living in a country with stable economy, so risks of losing their savings also lessen. For example, labour migration from Mexico to the USA is caused by these facts. Other reasons that force whole families to cross borders are wars and various cultural conflicts in their homeland. Many people migrate, seeking security and safe future for their children. For instance, most of the refugees who arrived in the European Union were escaping from wars.

More importantly, our customs are a part of us. They are an expression of the culture that has shaped us. This is something that most of us would like to pass down to our children and share with others. Sharing our old customs can also bring us closer to our new neighbours.

To sum up, our customs have value and are an important part of our culture. Therefore, I don believe that we should abandon our traditional customs when we move to another country. At the same time，I believe that we should learn about the customs of our new home and follow those that appeal to us. In this way, we can remember and celebrate our old culture while adapting to our new one.
