爲貧窮投票 Vote for Poverty

As all we know, universities offerscholarship to the outstanding academic students. And there is another policyfor the students who are outstanding but with limited pockets. However, thispolicy has caused great controversy, because if someone wants to win thescholarship they must have to make a speech, which requires the currentsituation and family incoming of poverty. As to this policy, different peoplehave different views.

就像我們所知道的，大學提供獎學金給學業出衆的學生。還有另一個政策就是給那些學業出衆但是家庭貧困的學生提供獎學金。然而，這個政策引發了巨大的爭議，因爲那些想獲得這個獎學金的學生必須得做個演講，要求他們說出貧困的現狀，還有他們家庭收入的窘境。對於這個政策，不同的人有不同的看法。

Some people think this policy hurt the poorstudents’ feeling every badly. The poverty-stricken students who want the moneysupported from university are required to make speech in front of the wholeclass. They have to list the evidence that could prove their poor situation. Someof them even speak out the tragic experience in their childhood to convincetheir classmate to vote for them. People who against this poor-mouth speechpolicy hold the opinion that it makes a double hurt to the poor students,poverty already make them feel bad and they have to expose their poverty toeveryone in order to get rid of poverty, which makes their life more sadly.

有些人認爲這個政策深深地傷害了貧困生的感情。學校要求那些想得到獎學金支助的貧困生必須得在全班面前做個演講。他們必須得列出能夠證明他們貧困的證據，有些人還得說他們小時候的悲慘經歷來說服同學們給他投票。反對這個哭窮政策的人認爲這給貧困生造成了雙重的傷害，貧困已經讓他們感覺夠糟的了，現在他們還得爲了擺脫貧困而暴露他們貧困的窘境，這讓他們更加悲催了。

However, some people think that this kindof speech policy would help the poor students not only in the poverty but alsocould gain the faith to fight for their poverty. People cannot choose thefamily they were born into, but they can always choose their future, so if theywant to get out of the current situation they have to face it first, and be notafraid to fight for it. No pain no gain.

然而，有些人認爲這樣的演說政策不僅能夠幫助貧困生擺脫困境，也能給他們增加爲擺脫貧困而奮鬥的信念。人們不同選擇他們的出身，但是他們能夠選擇他們的未來，所以如果他們想走出現在的境遇，他們必須得先面對它，不能因害怕而不去奮鬥。沒有付出就沒有收穫。

Weighting up there two arguments intoaccount, I am for the former one, the scholarship seats are limited, and the numberof poor students are large. Most of them are ended up with nothing. Hence, thepolicy should be changed.

權衡以上兩個爭論，我支持前者，獎學金的名額有限，但是貧困生的數量龐大。許多學生都是到最後什麼也沒得到的。因此，這個政策應該改變一下。
