螞蟻金服8.8億美元收購美國匯款服務公司速匯金大綱

Ant Financial, the digital payments arm of e-commerce giant Alibaba, is buying US-based MoneyGram for $880m (700m pounds).
電子商務巨頭阿里巴巴的數字支付部門螞蟻金服日前以8.80億美元（摺合7億英鎊）的價格收購了美國的速匯金。

MoneyGram has about 350,000 outlets in nearly 200 countries. Ant Financial has more than 630 million users.
速匯金在近200個國家擁有約35萬家分店。螞蟻金服則擁有超過6.3億名用戶。

The takeover by the Chinese group will need regulatory approval from the US Committee on Foreign Investment.
這筆由中國企業的收購還需美國外國投資委員會的監管批准。

Eric Jing, chief executive at Ant Financial, said in a statement that the marriage of the two companies will "provide greater access, security and simplicity for people around the world to remit funds, especially in major economies such as the United States, China, India, Mexico and the Philippines".
螞蟻金服首席執行官井賢棟在一份聲明中表示，兩家公司的聯姻將“爲世界各地的人們提供更便利、安全和簡單的匯款，特別是在美國、中國、印度、墨西哥和菲律賓這些地區”。

Ant Financial has a big market share in the online payments industry in China.
在中國，螞蟻金服佔據了很大一塊的線上支付的市場份額。

The acquisition could help the company extend the lead as well as expand overseas, as competition is growing in China with rival Tencent's WeChat payment system.
隨着對手騰訊的微信支付的出現，中國國內的競爭有所加劇，此次收購有助於該公司擴大其領先地位，拓展海外市場。

US-listed Moneygram's shares rose by nearly 9% on the news. The takeover has been approved by MoneyGram's board of directors.
據悉，已在美國上市的速匯金的股票上漲近9%。此次收購已經獲得速匯金董事會的批准。
