埃及的人口非常集中，幾乎全都集中在尼羅河沿岸，因爲除了這裏其他地方基本都是沙漠。（剩下的一點點人住在零星的幾個綠洲，以及海岸一帶）

埃及的降雨量非常少，所以尼羅河可以說是貨真價實的母親河，整個埃及幾乎全靠它。

Approximately 95% of Egypt’s population lives along the banks of river Nile, which is known to be the longest river on the globe. Egypt is largely covered by a desert, receiving only 20mm of rain per year.
