The city of Paris will stArt removing padlocks from the Pont des Arts on June 1, effectively ending the tourist tradition of attaching "love locks" to the bridge.

6月1日起，巴黎將開始拆除藝術橋上的掛鎖，有效終止遊客們在橋上懸掛"愛情鎖"的傳統。

For years, visitors have been attaching locks to the bridge in symbolic acts of affection.

多年來，遊客們都會在橋上掛一把象徵愛情的鎖。

Some further seal the deal by throwing keys into the Seine River below.

爲了使愛情契約更加牢固，有人甚至將鑰匙扔到橋下的塞納河裏。

The phenomenon spread to other bridges, creating two major concerns: degradation of property heritage and a risk to the safety of visitors.

The bridge carries more than 700,000 locks with an estimated combined weight roughly the same as 20 elephants.
