澳大利亞連鎖超市伍爾沃斯將接受銀聯卡支付

The Australian grocery giant Woolworths said that it will now accept UnionPay cards at its stores; China's leading debit and credit cards.

澳大利亞知名零售商沃爾沃斯集團日前宣佈，其門店將接受中國的主要借貸卡--銀聯卡的支付。

Woolworths will offer all forms of UnionPay payment, including the contactless mobile based transactions at its terminals.

沃爾沃斯將提供各種形式的銀聯支付，其中包括基於非接觸式移動交易終端。

According to UnionPay, Australia has the largest number of terminals that accept their cards, outside of China.

中國銀聯方面表示，澳大利亞是銀聯卡受理終端最多的境外市場。

The grocery chain will initially only have the terminals set up at their Woolworths outlets, but plans a full rollout to their other brands, such as Big W and liquor retailer Dan Murphy's in the foreseeable future.

該零售連鎖最初只會在沃爾沃斯超市建立支付終端，不過，在可預見的未來，其旗下的BigW折扣百貨店、酒類商店Dan Murphy's等品牌也將全面支持銀聯卡支付。

Paul Monnington, head of digital payments at Woolworths, said the changes are long overdue, with the high number of Chinese tourists visiting Australia each year. Last year the number of Chinese visitors to Australia surpassed 1 million for the first time.

沃爾沃斯的數字支付項目負責人保羅·蒙寧頓表示：“每年到澳大利亞來旅遊的中國遊客非常多，這項改變姍姍來遲。去年，中國到澳大利亞的遊客人數首次突破1百萬。”

The sentiment was shared by UnionPay International South Pacific general manager James Yang, who said the need for more access to UnionPay would increase in the future.

銀聯國際南太平洋區域總經理楊建民也有同樣的感觸，他表示，未來銀聯的使用率將大大增加。

"This is a great win for our customers visiting, studying or living in Australia. As tourism from China grows, we know we will see more and more people using UnionPay cards across Australian stores."
