姚明接受貝爺挑戰 將參加《越野千里》!

To promote man-and-nature harmony, retired basketball star Yao Ming has embraced the challenge from British outdoor adventurer Bear Grylls to join the shooting of a wilderness-survival TV reality show.

爲了促進人類和自然的和諧相處，退役籃球巨星姚明日前接受了英國戶外探險家貝爾·格里爾斯的邀請，決定參與錄製貝爺的野外生存真人秀。

Trekking through wilderness and feeding celebrity guests bizarre foods has been Grylls' routine in his hit adventure TV series, Running Wild with Bear Grylls.

貝爾非常受歡迎的電視節目《越野千里》的一大招牌看點就是貝爺帶着一衆明星嘉賓，徒步穿越野外，生吃各種奇奇怪怪的東西。

The show has featured a glittering cast, including US President Barack Obama, who accompanied the British survivalist into the wild.

《越野千里》的演出嘉賓可謂星光熠熠，美國總統奧巴馬也曾參加節目，跟着貝爾進行野外生存。

Yao's management team confirmed that the former NBA star will appear in the show's Chinese version, which will be jointly presented by Grylls, Shanghai Media Group and Discover Asia Pacific.

姚明的經紀人團隊近日證實，這位前NBA巨星將參加《越野千里》的中國版。該節目由貝爾主持，上海東方傳媒以及亞太探索電視網聯合打造。

Yao, according to his management team, has long admired Grylls' self-challenging courage and outdoor survival skills.

據經紀人團隊表示，姚明長久以來一直很佩服貝爾自我挑戰的勇氣，對其戶外生存的技巧表示仰慕。

They met during a speech in London in October by Britain's Prince William to promote a campaign against the illegal wildlife trade.

去年十月兩人曾在倫敦有過會面，當時兩人都參加了由英國威廉王子舉辦的旨在抵制違法買賣野生動物的演講活動。

Grylls invited Yao in a post on Wednesday on Grylls' personal account on the social networking platform Sina Weibo.

貝爺此前在個人新浪微博向姚明下“戰帖”邀請其參加節目。

"Your great contribution to charity after you've retired has made the entire society ... feel even more proud of you."

貝爾在微博中寫到：“姚明先生在退役後對慈善公益的巨大貢獻使全體國人更以你自豪。昔日籃球生涯使得身上兼具競技，合作精神。”

"With the spirit of combatant and cooperation, you are the exact warrior whom the wild adventure always tries to call," Grylls said in the post.

“這些素質使你成爲我們節目的不二人選。”

Yao, responding on the micro blog account of the Shanghai Sharks, the Chinese Basketball Association club that he owns, said he is ready to accept the challenge.

隨後，姚明通過上海大鯊魚官方微博確認，將接受“貝爺”貝爾·格里爾斯的挑戰，參加該檔野外生存真人秀節目。

Since retiring from basketball in 2011, Yao has been an advocate of wildlife and nature protection.

自2011年正式退役以後，姚明一直致力於宣傳野生動物和自然環境的保護。

He has made a number of public service ads for the fight against the ivory trade and opposing consumption of shark fins.

他曾經拍攝了一系列公益廣告呼籲人們抵制販賣象牙、號召人們停止食用魚翅。
