中國敦促馬來西亞加緊搜救失聯客機

China on Tuesday urged Malaysia to speed up and lead the search for a Malaysia Airlines passenger jet that disappeared Saturday while en route to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur.

中國週二敦促馬來西亞加緊搜救馬來西亞航空(Malaysia Airlines)失聯航班、併發揮主導性作用，這架客機上週六在從吉隆坡飛往北京的途中失去蹤跡，機上載有239名乘客和機組人員。

Speaking at a regular news conference, Qin Gang, a spokesman at China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said an international search has yielded 'no substantive progress,' and that Malaysia needs to 'dominate and mainly be responsible for coordination of search-and-rescue efforts.'

中國外交部發言人秦剛在例行記者會上稱，到目前爲止，國際搜救工作還沒有進一步實質性進展；相關搜救行動理應由馬方主導，負責協調。

'We want Malaysia to work harder and speed up efforts on behalf of the families,' he said, adding that the airline does appear to be taking the situation 'very seriously.' On Monday, a meeting in Beijing between Chinese officials and hundreds of relatives of passengers from the flight, which carried 239 passengers and crew, ended in jeers and a panicked exit by officials over their perceived inaction.

秦剛表示，中國希望馬方充分理解中國乘客家屬的急迫心情，加快調查速度，加大搜救力度；從這幾天情況看，我們感覺到，馬方對這件事情是高度重視的。週一，中國官員和數百名乘客家屬在北京舉行了會面，最終卻以家屬責難而結束，官員們被迫在無作爲的指責聲中匆忙退場。

Mr. Qin said four Chinese vessels already are helping to look for the plane and that an additional two will join the search party Tuesday. Another two Chinese vessels will join the search on Wednesday.

秦剛說，在疑似失聯海域參與搜救的中國艦隻一共有四艘，週二還將有兩艘艦隻抵達相關海域，明天還會有兩艘。

'By tomorrow, there will altogether be eight Chinese vessels involved in the search-and-rescue mission, which will include government, coast guard and naval vessels,' Mr. Qin said.

他稱，明天一共會有八艘中國艦隻參加搜救行動，其中包括公務船隻、海警船隻以及中國海軍軍艦。

The countries involved in the search are in regular communication with one another, Mr. Qin said. However, he repeatedly stressed during the news conference that Malaysia should take the lead in searching for the missing plane.

秦剛還說，參與搜救的各國隨時保持密切聯繫和溝通。不過他再次強調稱，相關搜救行動理應由馬方主導。

Mr. Qin said China's foreign ministry, the Civil Aviation Administration of China and other departments have been in touch with next of kin to address their needs. China also sent a 'joint working group' to Kuala Lumpur on Monday night. That group met with Malaysia Airlines representatives and Malaysian government officials on Tuesday.

秦剛表示，中國外交部及民航局等部門昨天也同乘客家屬見面、溝通情況，瞭解他們的要求；中國政府聯合工作組週一晚上也已抵達吉隆坡，工作組週二會見了馬來西亞航空代表以及馬方政府官員。

'Chinese authorities met with representatives of Malaysia Airlines (in Kuala Lumpur) and asked them to better handle issues related to the family of the passengers and to meet their demands for accurate information on the search,' he said.

秦剛稱，中國派出的工作組會見了馬來西亞航空負責人，要求馬來西亞航空照料好這批家屬，並向家屬及時通報相關工作進展情況。

Mr. Qin added that only two passengers on the plane used false passports--which eliminated the possibility that passengers with stolen Chinese documents were on the flight

他補充稱，從目前掌握的信息來看，除了兩本護照被人冒用登記之外，沒有發現其他護照被冒用的情況。這意味着不可能有乘客使用偷來的中國護照登機。
