Rumours about when the iPhone 7 will launch have been circulating for months. However, the latest puts a new twist on the mystery, claiming it won't be called the iPhone 7 at all.

Instead, it will be called the iPhone 6SE - leaving the iPhone 7 for next year, when apple is expected to introduce a major overhaul of its iconic handset.

事實上，蘋果這次發售的手機名叫iPhone 6SE--而iPhone 7則要留待明年，到時候蘋果預計將會對這款標誌性手機進行一場徹底更新。

The report from Apfelpage comes from Chinese supply chain sources, who claim to have have seen packaging and labelling that indicates the new phone will be called the 'iPhone 6SE'.

據Apfelpage的這篇報道的消息來源是中國供應商，他們聲稱自己已經看到了蘋果新手機的包裝和商標，顯示這款手機將被稱作“iPhone 6SE”。

'Given the more-iterative changes and similar design, it is not out of the question for Apple to brand the new iPhone as a continuation of the iPhone 6 line,' says 9to5Mac.

The launch date has been suggested by mobile phone leaker Evan Blass, who has accurately leaked images and details about other phones in the past. His prediction of the launch date for Apple's newest phone is in line with their previous announcements, such as the iPhone 6, which launched in September 2015.

As well as the launch date, some rumours about specifications have also been circulating.

Earlier this month, the Wall Street Journal reported: 'Instead of 16GB as a starting point for the entry-level iPhone, the new starting point will be 32GB, according to a person familiar with Apple's iPhone plans.'

As well as ditching the 16GB model, rumours suggest that Apple will also be introducing a larger 256GB model.
