麥當勞在美國推出鮮肉漢堡大綱

US fast-food giant McDonald's is making a massive change to its burgers. It would begin making its Quarter Pounder burgers with fresh - not frozen - beef across the US by early May.

美國快餐巨頭麥當勞在其漢堡製作上作出重大改變,將於5月初開始在美國使用非冷凍的新鮮牛肉製作“四盎司牛肉堡”。

The beef will be cooked fresh when a customer orders, which is a new process for the burger chain.

當顧客點餐時,牛肉將被新鮮烹飪,這是漢堡供應鏈的一道新工藝。

The chain's "Signature Crafted" burgers also will use fresh beef, though Big Macs and other burgers will continue to use frozen patties.

連鎖店的“簽名系列”漢堡也將使用新鮮牛肉,不過“巨無霸”和其他漢堡將繼續使用冷凍肉餅。

The company said the switch is now in effect at 3,500 restaurants in cities. By May, the change will be in effect in most of its 14,000 US restaurants.

The move is part of McDonald's attempt to shed its junk-food reputation and to counter its rival Wendy's.

這一舉措是麥當勞爲擺脫其垃圾食品的名聲並對抗競爭對手溫蒂漢堡而做出的部分努力。

In February, Wendy's launched a national campaign highlighting its fresh beef — and slamming McDonald's for its frozen patties.
