　　我的暑假My Summer Holiday

July 2 is my grand father's birthday. On that day, all of my families will get together to celebrate his birthday. This year was the same. My uncles and aunt came back from other cities. It was so alive that my grand parents were very happy. This year, I made a surprise for my grand father. I cooked a dish for him. As I never cooked before, he was so surprised as well as exciting. My grand father said that it was the best birthday gift he received. I was glad to make grand father happy. Actually, I had practiced for several days before that day. My mum was my cooking teacher. She supported me to prepare this gift to grand father.

7月2號是我爺爺的生日。那一天，全家人聚在一起給他慶祝生日。今年也一樣。我的叔叔和嬸嬸從其他城市回來。生日很熱鬧，我爺爺很高興。今年，我給爺爺製造了一個驚喜。我給他做了一道菜。因爲我以前從來沒煮過，他既驚訝又高興。我爺爺說這是他收到過的最好的生日禮物。能使爺爺開心我感到很高興。事實上，在那天之前我已經練習了好幾天了。我媽媽是個烹飪老師。她支持我給爺爺準備這份禮物。

有一個人很吝嗇，叫吝嗇鬼，他死了以後下地獄，閻羅王罵他說：“你這個吝嗇鬼，在塵間的時候什麼東西都抓很緊不放，什麼人都不給，看到貧窮、痛苦的人也不幫助，父母、親戚、朋友也沒有照顧好，讓他們都捱餓受苦，你這種兇惡的業障，應該被放入滾開的油鍋裏面。”

鬼差就帶他到滾得很熱、很燙的油鍋那邊，吝嗇鬼一看就說：“喔，等一下、慢一下!油那麼多，怎麼那麼浪費呢?你們先把這些油倒出來，賣出去後把錢給我，然後丟我在熱燙的水裏就可以了!何必用油，而且還用那麼多油!”

In the Spring and Autumn Period (春秋時期,770-476 BC), there was a beauty in the State of Yue called Xishi (西施).

傳說春秋時期，越國有一美女，名喚西施。

She often suffered from pains in her chest, and so she would often walk around doubled over and with her brows knitted.

但是西施有心口疼的毛病，所以她經常手捂胸口，皺着眉頭走着。

There was an ugly girl in the village called Dongshi who envied Xishi.

村子裏還住着一位醜姑娘，叫做東施，她十分嫉妒西施。

Striving to emulate Xishi, she imitated her stoop, knitting her brows at the same time.

於是東施時常效仿西施，手捂胸口，緊皺眉頭。

She thought that this made her elegant, but in fact, it only made her more ugly.

東施覺得她效仿西施就會變得很美麗，但是實際上，只會使她變得更難看而已。

Later, this idiom came to be used to indicate improper imitation that produces the reverseeffect.

這個典故比喻不恰當的模仿，帶來相反的效果。
