account for 解釋，說明；是……的原因；弄清……的下落；佔（一定數量或比例）

【注】該短語通常用於將來時態或含有情態動詞的句子，其後可接名詞或代詞，一般不接 that 從句，若要接that從句，則應先接形式賓語 it。如：
