有位漂亮的小姑娘Angela，20歲剛出頭，很喜歡我們的節目。首先謝謝這位小妹妹對我們節目的支援。她詢問如何用英語表達“比得上某人或某物”，推薦一個片語：“
stand up to”，在“to”的後面放上要比的人或物就可以了：I can’t stand up to Angela, she’s far more young than me.(我哪能跟Angela比，她比我年輕多了)。
And how well do they meet our needs? Do they stand up to ALC? 在滿足我們的需求方面，他們能做到哪些？他們比能上ALC公司嗎？
How’s your new boyfriend, does he stand up to Paul? 你的新任男友怎麼樣，他比得上保羅嗎？
My new assistant couldn’t stand up to my former one. 我的新助理不能和我以前的那個助理相比。
下面，要介紹的英語表達法很實用，經常會聽到同學們這樣說：別讓你媽媽知道，否則她會嘮叨個沒完沒了。 那麼用英語如何表示呢？
You’ll never hear the end of it，你不會聽到這事有結束的時候，意思呢就是“嘮叨個沒完沒了”。
If my mom finds out, you’ll never hear the end of it. 如果被我媽媽發現，她會嘮叨個沒完沒了。
Don’t bring it up to Julia; otherwise you’ll never hear the end of it. 不要在珠麗亞面前提及此事，否則她會嘮叨個沒完沒了。
Once she starts it, you’ll never hear the end of it. 她一旦開個頭，就沒個完。
那麼，如果是某事會沒完沒了，該如何利用好“the end of it”呢，試試看：
You’ve been watching TV for hours; I don’t see the end of it. 你已經看了好幾個小時的電視了，什麼時候有個完啊!
