勇氣是才能

Courage is daring to he rprising your husiness or personal life, how often do you question your thoughts, your action, or your motives? When you don't exercise the ability to always test yourself, you may lose not only your confidence, but more importantly, you lose the ability to focus, to know yourself,your friends, and your customers.

勇氣就是敢於冒險，勇於進取，勇往直前。在工作和個人生活中，你經常對自己的思想、行為或動機提出質疑嗎?如果你不常鍛鍊並檢驗自己的能力，你不僅會喪失信心，更重要的是，你也將失去認識自我、朋友和客户的能力。

When faced with decisions and challenges, asking yourself questions every day, every moment gives you the courage to discover what is important to you and what a particular situation means to you, and what result or solution you will like to accomplish.

In the future days, which we seek to make secure, we look forward to a world founded upon four essential human freedoms.

在未來的日子裏，我們將試圖尋求安寧穩定，我們將期待在人類四項必不可少的自由的基礎之上建立一個新世界。

The first is freedom of speech and expression — everywhere in the world.

第一項自由，是在世界上的每一個地方，人人都享有言論自由。

The second is freedom of every person to worship God in his own way — everywhere in the world.

第二項自由，是在世界上的每一個地方，每個人都有以自己的方式信奉上帝的自由。

The third is freedom from want — which, translated into world terms, means economic understandings which will secure to every nation a healthy peace time life for its inhabitants — everywhere in the world.

第三項自由，是在世界上的任何地方脱離貧困的自由。從全球意義上説，就是達成經濟上的相互理解，以確保任何一個國家的居民都可以過上健康與祥和的生活。

The fourth is freedom from fear — which, translated into world terms, means a world-wide reduction of armaments to such a point and in such a thorough fashion that no nation will be in a position to commit an act of physical aggression against any neighbor — anywhere in the world.

第四項自由，是在世界上的任何地方遠離恐懼的自由。從全球意義上説，就是進行世界範圍內的徹底裁軍，從而使得任何一個國家都不會向其鄰國採取武力侵略行動。

That is no vision of a distant millennium. It is a definite basis for a kind of world attainable in our own time and generation. That kind of world is the very antithesis of the so-called new order of tyranny which the dictators seek to create with the crash of a bomb.

To that new order we oppose the greater conception —the moral order. A good society is able to face schemes of world domination and foreign revolutions alike without fear.

Since the beginning of our American history we have been engaged in change — in a perpetual peaceful revolution —a revolution which goes on steadily, quietly adjusting itself to changing conditions — without the concentration camp or the quicklime in the ditch. The world order which we seek is the cooperation of free countries,working together in a friendly civilized society.

It is not difficult to imagine a world short of would probably be a kinder world:without demands,without abrasions without disappointments. People would have time for work as they did would not he for themselves but for the collectivity. Competition would never enter in. Conflict would be eliminated, tension become a thing of the past. The stress of creation would be at an end. Art would no longer be troubling, but purely celebratory in its evity would be increased,for fewer people would die of heart attack or stroke caused by tumultuous endeavor. Anxiety would be extinct. Time would stretch on and on, with ambition long departed from

the human heart.

We do not choose to be born. We do not choose our parents. We do not choose our historical epoch, the country of our birth, or the immediate circumstances of our upbringing. We do not, most of us, choose to die; nor do we choose the time or conditions of our death. But within all this realm of choicelessness, we do choose how we shall live: courageously or in cowardice，honorably or dishonorably, with purpose or in drift. We decide what is important and what is trivial in life. We decide that what makes us significant is either what we do or what we refuse to do. But no matter how indifferent the universe to our choices and decisions, these choices and decisions are ours to make. We decide. We choose. And as we decide and choose, so are our lives formed. In the end, forming our own destiny is what ambition about.
