Friend like you歌手介紹作爲邁阿密的新生代R&B小天王，Sammie在他出生前便顯現出了其高超的音樂天賦。她的媽媽曾經是一名專業的歌者，在懷着他的時候曾經在教堂裏面唱歌。更爲碰巧的是，Sammie的第一次成功的演唱也是在教堂裏。在他四歲的時候，曾因爲演唱Troubles Don‘t Last Always而受到了正式的讚揚。即使是在上學的時候，Sammie的腦海中也不曾與音樂遠離。他經常在上課的時候被老師抓到自己在課堂上輕聲哼唱，但是老師還是非常肯定他的音樂才華。最終，一個在他們學校附近的一所藝術學校中的一名老師在聽說了他的音樂天賦之後把他轉入到他們學校的三年級學習。不久以後，他和另外兩個初中的男生成立了一個合唱團體，Sammie的音樂老師對於他們的表演頗有好感，就將他們其中一個視頻推薦給了Apollo的電視節目Showtime欄目組， 他們因此獲得了一個試唱的機會，還有1998年Sammie的個人秀也歸功於此! 最終Sammie贏得了比賽桂冠，因而Joyce Irby，一名曾與Monica和ABC合作過的並且與亞特蘭大本部製作人兼作曲人Dallas Ausin相識的經紀人，聯繫到了他跟他母親!Austin將Sammie帶到他的錄音室錄製樣帶，大約1年以後，Sammie被召回開始錄製首張個人專輯——是在2000年初由Capitol Records唱片公司發行的From the bottom to the top.這應該說是一張充滿了驚喜，不乏精彩的專輯。2001年，Sammie客串電影原聲曲Hardball.2006年，Sammie發行其第二張個人專輯，從Come With Me開始，歌曲開始轉入抒情的R&B節奏，Sammie早年唱詩班的功力得以體現。2008年，與Soulja Boy共同演繹Kiss me thru the phone.
