過去將來一般時

動詞型 would(should)+動詞原形

系表型 would(should) be+表語

(should只用於第一人稱後，would用於所有人稱後)

過去將來一般時主要有於表示過去某個時刻(起點)之後將發生的動作或存在的狀態、特徵、性質、身份等。

　　(1)過去將來一般時，表示過去某個時刻之後將發生的動作。

John said that he would visit a school the next day.

約翰說第二天他要去參觀一所學校。

Jane told us that she would attend a concert that evening.

珍妮告訴我們當天晚上她要參加一個音樂會。

Mother promised me last Sunday that she would buy me an iPhone.

媽媽上個星期日答應給我買一臺iPhone手機。

模仿練習：

1.傑克說過一個月他要去巴黎。

當衆宣佈第二天將是她的生日。

3.爸爸答應我過一年送我去美國讀書。

　　(2)過去將來一般時，表示過去某個時刻之後將存在的狀態、特徵、性質、身份等。

The doctor said Jack would be all right in a few days.

醫生說傑克過幾天就好的。

They said that they would be late for school if they did not hurry up.

他們說如果不快點他們會上課遲到的。

Lily told me that she would be a teacher in six months.

莉莉告訴我說過6個月她將成爲一名護士。

模仿練習：

1.護士說孩子一會兒就會沒事的。

2.他認爲老師和家長都會很高興。

3.珍妮在日記裏寫道，再過兩她將成什麼一名空姐(airhostess)。

　　(3)過去將來一般時，常常和於表示過去習慣性的動作(不管人稱，全用would)。

When someone smiled at the bady, she would smile back.

每當有人向嬰兒微笑，她就會以微笑回敬。

After dinner they would take a walk along the lakeside.

晚飯之後他們就會沿着湖邊散散步。

No matter how many questions we asked, the teacher would answer patiently.

不管我們問多少問題，老師都會耐心地回答。

注意：

be going to和be (about) to的過去式等於would，也常在英語口語中用於表示過去打算即將要做的事。

例如：

I was going to have a rest when one of my classmates came to my place.我正想休息，我的一位同學來到我家。

He mentioned that he was going to travel around the world during the upcoming summer vacation.

他提到過他打算在即將到來的暑假環遊世界。

Jim was about to go out when it began to rain.

傑姆正要出門，天空突然開始下雨了。
