1．provide∧→for或provide→support詞彙錯誤。provide作及物動詞意爲“提供”，放在此處不符合文意，provide for爲固定搭配，表示“供養，撫養”，此句要表達的意思是“供養家庭的能力”，故應該增加一個for。或者把provide改爲support，也可以表示“供養”。
2．economical→economic詞彙錯誤。economical意爲“節儉的，實惠的”，economic意爲“經濟的，經濟學的”，根據上下文語境，此處要表達的意思是“過去幾年經濟上的不穩定使得美國夢更難實現”，故應改爲economic，符合上下語義。
3．employed→unemployed語篇錯誤。此句用連詞or連揍兩個並列的表語，表示選擇關係，意爲“或，還是”，根據上下文語境，後面一句指出700萬非法移民在美國擁有工作，中間用meanwhile銜接，表示對比，可以推斷出前一句要表達“美國公民和合法移民在失業”之意，故此處應改爲unemployed，意爲“2400萬美國人失業或半失業。”

10. and (we are)→but語篇錯誤。由上下文語義判斷，此句和前句的邏輯關係虛該是轉折關係，不是並列關係，前句指出“美國曾經，並將繼續是一個移民國家”，後句則說“美國也是一個法治國家”，二者形成對照，故應該用表示轉折意義的連詞but。
