  一、seem常用於it作形式主語的結構,即It seems / seemed that..., 表示“看來……,似乎……”。

It seems that nobody knew what had happened.

It seems that he was late for the train.

It seems impossible that he will be here tomorrow.

1. seem + 名詞

That seems a good idea.

She seems a clever girl.

2. seem +

She seems quite happy today.

3. seem +

He seemed to have known the truth.

He seems to be thinking about something.

Something seemed to be wrong with the train.

He seems (to be) a fool.

She seems (to be) quite unhappy.

如3中的to have...

She doesn't seem to like the idea.

They seemed not to know each other.

4. seem + 分詞

He seemed pleased at what I said.

The news seems exciting.

5. seem +

It seems like years since I last saw you.

They seemed in high spirits.

  三、 seem常用於由as if / though引導的從句中。

It seems as if somebody is calling you.

It seems as though he were very stupid.

注意:在as if / though引起的從句中,如果說的是非真實的情況,從句謂語用虛擬語氣,如上句he were very stupid。

  四、 seem常用在“It seems / seemed to sb. (that)...”

It seems to me that we have been neglecting our duty.

It seems to me that they are right.

There seems / seemed + to be + n.

There seemed to be no work for you to do now.

There seems to be a lot of things to do. (=It seems as if there were a lot of things to do.)

2)這一結構的否定形式爲“There seems / seemed to be + no + n.”或“There doesn't / didn't seem to be + n.”。

There doesn't seem to have been any difficulty on this question.
