When the young waitress in the cafe in Tom's building started waving hello everyday. Tom was flattered, for she was at least 15 years younger than he. One day she waved and beckoned to Tom again. When Tom strolled over, she asked, "Are you single?"

The same evening he went to a florist's. As he knew that the girl was twenty-two years old, hepaid for twenty-two roses and asked the florist to send them to the girl the next day.
當天晚上他到花店去了。他知道這姑娘22歲，就付了22朵花的錢，並要花店主人在第二天把花送給那位姑娘。
The florist knew the young man very well as he had often brought flowers in his shop the young man left the shop, the florist thought:
