Wan Dan heard of his friend's death, and went to express his condolence with a heavy heart.

Many people came and went, and it was crowded in the friend's house, the celebrated knight-errant, Chen Zun, was also among the condolence procession, as he had presented numerous presents, he could not help assuming an air of benefactor.

When it was Wan Dan's turn to pay contribute to his dead friend, he produced a pi of thin silk from his bag slowly, and put it on the table in front of the catafalque. He said in a low voice, "Though the cloth costs little, I wove it personally, every thread of it indicates how I miss you!" On hearing this, Chen Zun could not help flushing, and then he left at once under the pretext of urgent businesses.

王丹得知朋友去世的消息後，滿懷悲傷地前去弔唁。

朋友家中人來客往，十分擁擠，著名的俠客陳遵也在弔唁的隊伍中。由於贈送的東西格外多，陳遵的臉上止不住流露出有恩於人的神色。

輪到王丹拜祭的時候，只見他緩緩從包中拿出一匹細絹，放在靈堂前的几案上，沉聲說道：“這匹布雖然值不了幾個錢，但這是王丹親手織成的，一經一緯，都包含着我對您的思念!”陳遵聽得這話，不禁滿臉通紅，趕緊託辭離開了靈堂。

　經典民間故事：楚人操舟

A man of Chu learned to steer the boat from a boatman.

At the beginning, he followed the boatman's instruction carefully, no matter whether it was to go ahead or back, turn left or right .

One day, he had a try to steer the boat in slow current by himself, and found that he could steer the boat with ease. So he dismissed the boatman, and steered the boat directly to the rip current. When the boat lost control in the vortex, the man looked around in panic, and was scared out of wits. Not only was the oar lost, but also the ruder was carried away by the current.

一個楚國人向船伕學習駕船。

剛開始的時候，無論是進退快慢還是左右旋轉，他都非常認真的尊從船伕的指揮。

一天，楚國人自己駕船在水流平緩的地帶試了一下，發現達到了得心應手的熟練程度，於是，他辭去了教他的船伕，駕着船直衝激流險灘。當船在旋渦裏失去控制時，楚國人倉惶四顧，喪魂落魄。不僅手中的槳丟了，連船舵也給水的無影無蹤。

　經典民間故事：越人誘鼠

A person of the state of Yue was deeply troubled by the mice loved in a pitcher and let the opening uncovered. Purposely he allowed the mice to eat the grains in it as possible, and would not intervene them at all.

After getting the benefit, the mice came in gangs to climb in the pitcher and feasted themselves with the grains inside, and then went back to their holes happily. Thinking that it is the right time, the Yue person replaced the grains with water, and placed some chaff on the surface of the water. During the night, the mice came in groups again excitedly and were not alert at all. They entered the pitcher orderly and none of them came out alive.

一個越國人被家中的老鼠弄得苦不堪言，便把老鼠最喜歡的穀子放在瓦罐裏面。罐口也不蓋嚴，故意讓老鼠盡情地吃，一點兒也不干涉它們。

老鼠嚐到了甜頭，便呼朋招友成羣結隊地趕來。鑽進去大吃特吃，吃飽後高高興興地回洞。越國人估計時機已到，便將瓦罐裏的穀子換成水，在上面淺淺覆蓋一層穀糠，興沖沖跑來的老鼠一點兒也沒有一個提防，在夜裏成羣結隊地再次光臨，它們次序井然地進入瓦罐裏面，結果一隻也沒有活着出來。
