Dangerous eyes: American fans of Lady Gaga's Bad Romance videos are copying the contact lens which can lead to vision problems 'There literally is otential for somebody to lose their vision within 24 hours from an infection,' Dr sumpta Madu, from the New York's Montefiore Medical Centre in New York told the BBC.

The lenses have become in countries such as Japan, Singapore and South Korea and are turning up in American high schools and on college campuses. They are not legal in the US since they have not been approved for use by government health officials. But several varieties and colors are readily available online from foreign websites for $20 to $30.
