　　一、英語小故事

My sister was fond of traveling. Ever since graduating, she had been determined to organize a trip to an old temple. Since transporting fare was expensive, she decided to use a bicycle to cycle there not caring about the disadvantages. Her stubborn attitude was always her shortcoming. Once she made up her mind to do something, no one could persuade her to change her mind. Finally, we gave in as usual though we preferred to take a train. After we prepared everything, including the schedule, reliable weather forecast and the insurance, we began our trip.

我的妹妹很喜歡旅行。自從畢業以來，她就下定決心要組織一次往一座古廟的旅行。因爲交通費用昂貴，她決定騎自行車去，毫不擔心其中的不利情況。頑固的態度一直都是她的缺點，一旦她下定決心要做的事，就沒有人能說服她改變主意。最後，我們像往常一樣讓步，儘管我們更喜歡乘火車去。我們準備好了所有東西，包括時間表、可靠的天氣預報，還有保險，就開始了旅程。

Our journey was along a river flowing from a high altitude. Our pace was slow because the river frequently had many sharp bends through deep valleys, where the water seemed to boil. Just as I recorded in my journal, it was really a hard journey. But we also enjoyed great views. One night, I put my head on my pillow--a parcel of wool coats, and lay beneath the stars. When the flame in front of our cave went out at midnight, I found the sky so beautiful!

我們的旅程沿着一條從高海拔處流下來的河流前行。但我們的步伐很慢，因爲當流經深深的峽谷時，這條河流急轉彎很多，急湍的河水都似乎沸騰起來。正如我在旅行日誌裏記錄的那樣，這真是一次艱苦的旅行。但是我們也欣賞到了美麗的景色。一天晚上，我把頭枕在一包羊毛衣服做的枕頭上，躺在星空下，當巖洞前的火焰在午夜熄滅時，我發現夜空是如此的美麗!

　　二、英語笑話

An older lady gets undressed and starts to get into the bathtub. She gets about halfway into the tub and thinks, "Was I getting into the tub or getting out?”

一個上了年紀的女人脫了衣服準備去洗澡。她剛把一隻腳邁進浴缸就想:我是打算進去呢?還是正要出去?

She calls out, "Bernice! Was I getting into the bathtub or getting out?"

她大聲喊:“伯尼斯!我這是正要去洗澡還是打算要出來呢?”

Bernice says, "Well I don’t know. I' 11 have to come up and look.” Bernice starts walking up the stairs to the bathroom, gets halfway up and thinks to herself, “Was I going up the stairs or down? " She calls out "Sally! Was I going up or down the stairs?”

伯尼斯說:“我不知道，我這就上去看看。”伯尼斯開始往樓上的浴室走，走到一半時想到:我這是要上樓呢還是下樓?她大喊:“莎莉!我這是要上樓呢還是要下樓呢?”

Sally, who is just being with Bernice down in the living room calls back,“How should I know?” and thinks to herself, “I' m glad I’m not losing my mind like the other people in this house.”

剛還和伯尼斯在樓下客廳裏的莎莉喊:“我怎麼知道?”她自己想:我真的很高興我不像這個屋子裏的其它人一樣沒記性。
